How to Prepare Logo Artwork for Custom Tote Bags
A practical checklist for preparing logo artwork for custom canvas and RPET tote bags: file types, logo placement and size, colors and contrast, print area, and proof approval before production.

Preparing your artwork before requesting a quote can help your supplier review the design and recommend suitable customization options. Use this checklist for canvas or RPET tote projects.
Send the clearest file available
If you have a vector logo file, include it with your request. If you only have a raster image, send the highest-quality version available and ask whether it is suitable for the selected print method. Confirm the supplier's accepted file types before production.
Do not enlarge a small, low-resolution image and assume it will print clearly. The supplier may need to review or adjust it for the chosen print area.
Specify logo placement and size
Tell the supplier where you want the artwork placed—for example, centered on the front panel or positioned on another agreed area. Include your preferred logo size if you know it.
The available area may depend on the tote's dimensions, seams, gusset, handles, and construction. Request a mockup or layout proof so you can check how the design sits on the finished bag.
Identify colors and artwork details
Provide brand color references where available. If the design includes several colors, fine lines, small text, or gradients, mention that when asking about screen printing or heat transfer. The best method depends on the artwork and the selected bag.
For a pattern intended to cover large sections of the tote, ask how the supplier handles panel layout, seams, and areas near the handles. Confirm whether the product can be made with the coverage you want.
Approve a proof before production
Check the proof for:
• Correct logo version
• Spelling and text
• Logo size and position
• Colors and contrast
• Print area and any seam or handle overlap
Submit the product style, quantity, bag color, artwork, delivery destination, and required date with your quote request. This gives the supplier the information needed to confirm the available options for your project.
